In 2017 SKS Scotland worked with Callander Community Development Trust and the Coilhallan Woodland Group to research the options and feasibility of taking on the ownership of Coilhallan Woodland from Forest Enterprise. This work included commissioning a full Woodland Management Plan and carrying out community consultation and market research. It informed the group’s decision making, leading to a clear set of activities to pursue and SKS developing a business plan to illustrate the sustainability of the project, with income streams identified. The resulting documentation is now being used to apply to the Forestry Commission Community Asset Transfer Scheme and Scottish Land Fund Stage 2 to progress the project.
Callander Community Development Trust were very happy with the process and the end result delivered by SKS Scotland: ‘It has been a pleasure to work with you and your colleagues at SKS and we are very pleased with the quality of the work completed.’ CCDT
